Ongoing project. This phase consists of a studio addition design for a well-known Seattle area artist, Z.Z. Wei, originally from Beijing and now residing in Shoreline, Washington with his wife Lin and their two young sons. The existing house was originally built in 1979 and is a classic example of the 70’s international style.

While needing a large light-filled workspace for producing paintings and art projects of various sizes, his studio also serves as a showcase for his work as well, so Z.Z. requested a studio design with a comfortable feel, where he can welcome and entertain occasional visitors.

The studio is isolated from his main house but is connected and easily accessible when desirable.  The studio is also an exciting play space for his sons as well.
